Retired Judge Fanon A. Rucker brings more than twenty years of legal experience and advocacy to the Firm. Judge Rucker was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. He graduated from Hampton University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
As a prosecutor, Judge Rucker tried hundreds of bench and jury trials and regularly advocated for domestic violence and assault victims. Judge Rucker was part of the City’s liquor license enforcement team, responsible for monitoring, and where appropriate, objecting to liquor license renewal for noncompliant establishments. During his career, Judge Rucker served as the Chief Prosecutor for four Ohio municipalities.
After several years as a city prosecutor, Judge Rucker went into private practice. In private practice, he worked for two different prestigious Cincinnati law firms where he focused primarily on civil rights, employment, municipal law and business litigation. Judge Rucker litigated cases in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels. Judge Rucker had the very unique experience of representing both plaintiffs and defendants in court. As a lawyer, Judge Rucker recovered compensation for injured plaintiffs in solo and class action lawsuits.
In 2007, Judge Rucker was appointed to the Hamilton County Municipal Court. As a Judge, he presided over more than two hundred thousand cases, including several hundred civil and criminal bench and jury trials. Judge Rucker authored more than four hundred written decisions and regularly appeared on local and national news discussing relevant legal issues and high profile cases.
Judge Rucker served as an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati for several years where he taught a class on law history and currently serves as an Ohio Bar Examiner.
Judge Rucker’s father, Robert Dennis Rucker Jr, served on the Indiana Supreme Court for 18 years. His mother, Jacqueline Pace Rucker is a lawyer and Lutheran minister.
Attorney Anita Washington joined The Cochran Firm’s Cincinnati office in 2012. Her primary areas of practice are premise liability, wrongful death, medical malpractice, and motor vehicle accidents. Prior to joining The Cochran firm, Anita was a professor of Paralegal Studies and Criminal Justice at a local college.
Anita graduated with honors from Urbana University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and University of Cincinnati with a M.S. in Criminal Justice Studies. Anita received her J.D. from University of Dayton, College of Law, in an accelerated two-year program. Anita was on the Moot Court Team and winner of the Walter H. Rice Moot Court competition.
Anita serves on various professional and community boards. Anita is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, National Trial Lawyers, American Association for Justice, and Ohio Association for Justice.

She let the trial team that secured more than $20 million in damages, the largest amount of compensatory damages ever awarded in a wrongful death case in the state of Georgia, in Gandy v. Devore.
Ms. Lamberti has also obtained more than $35 million in settlements and verdicts for medical malpractic e victims. Ms. Lamberti is highly skilled in litigating medical malpractice cases and strongly believes in looking out for every client who has experienced catastrophes and life – altering tragedies due to the negligence of others.
