A man who witnessed the fatal shooting of Rayshard Brooks is scheduled to give his account of the shooting in Atlanta.

Melvin Evans, who is from Memphis, was with his friends at Wendy’s when the events unfolded. He described the chilling details of what he said happened during the shooting.

“I just seen him hit the ground. We were just ducking in the truck. My partner behind me was like, pull off. Back up. And I was like ‘Nah I’m not going to pull off.' Why this man have his gun in his hand. If I move, he 10 feet from the truck, I might run over them or something being nervous,” Evans said during an interview with CNN.

Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Paul Howard announced Wednesday that criminal warrants have been issued against at least one of the police officers involved in the fatal shooting of Rayshard Brooks.

Brooks, 27, was shot by then Atlanta police Officer Garrett Rolfe on Friday after body camera footage showed he grabbed an officer’s Taser and pointed it at officers, WSB-TV reported. Police had been called because Brooks fell asleep in the drive-thru of a Wendy’s restaurant in southwest Atlanta.
